About The Position

This position is for a Food and Nutrition Delivery Driver within Huron Valley Schools. The role is a 46-week, non-certified student support services/food services position, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The driver will be responsible for delivering food and related supplies across various district locations and may also perform warehouse duties. The position offers a school-year schedule with time off during Winter and Spring Breaks, and potentially in July if additional work is available.

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess or be able to secure a valid Michigan chauffeur's license with all required endorsements
• Must possess a valid CDL-B license with air brake endorsement
• Must be able to adapt to assignments across multiple departments and locations, as well as seasonal work that may require changes to scheduled work hours during the school year
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Ability to speak and write effectively

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks in a safe and timely manner consistent with district & state regulations
• Be organized, dependable, and able to work independently
• Establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with program director, school personnel, and food service staff
• Keep the truck clean and organized, and provide non-mechanical maintenance
• Lift 50 lbs.
• Load and unload deliveries of food & related supplies
• Other duties as assigned by the Food & Nutrition Supervisor, which may include warehouse duties
• Apply mathematical concepts to practical situations
• Carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
