A country club’s food and beverage manager is responsible for managing all F&B operations and for delivering an excellent member experience. They must maintain and improve food and beverage service standards, with the objective of consistently meeting and exceeding member expectations. The F&B manager manages all F&B and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards. The goal is to maximize sales and revenue through member satisfaction and employee engagement. The F&B manager must also lead the F&B team by attracting, recruiting, training and appraising talented personnel. There are many skills a F&B manager must excel in before taking on such a position. They must have strong leadership and communication skills in order to be successful. They must be able to manage personnel, delegate multiple tasks and meet financial targets. A manager must comply with all health and safety regulations, stay up to date with food and beverage trends and practices, and be guest-oriented and service-minded. They must identify the details necessary to consistently achieve high levels of quality, satisfaction and outstanding member experiences. As F&B manager, you are responsible for dealing with any issues that might come up during daily service operations. A manager must have the ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently while identifying members’ needs and responding proactively to all of their concerns. It is the manager’s responsibility to make sure that food and drinks are well-stocked, servers are prepared and members are satisfied. The F&B manager must work closely with other members of the team to deliver an experience that seamlessly incorporates fantastic food, delicious drinks and superb service to a club’s members. With the F&B director’s plans, the F&B manager helps bring a country club’s food and beverage vision to life with an eye on overall member experience.
