About The Position

Food Runners must move quickly and efficiently and maintain constant communication with the server on the status of each table. The food runner’s main responsibility is to run food to the pool area, golf course and restaurant. Assist in the restaurant as needed with miscellaneous tasks. Also responsible for stocking and maintaining the golf comfort stations and stocking cart.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous restaurant experience required.
  • Must be fluent in English speaking, reading and writing.
  • Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for I-9 form purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of basic cocktails and/or bartending experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a restaurant fine dining or refined service position preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the servers, bartenders and our members in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner
  • Interact with members in a friendly, caring, and personalized manner.
  • Greet members by offering them a warm, heartfelt welcome to the restaurant
  • Understand restaurant’s food and beverage preparation and be able to articulate the menu for personalized experience.
  • Ask questions to learn member preferences.
  • Ensure all outgoing dishes are correctly prepared according to members' specific requests including dietary restrictions
  • Responsible for setting up the expediting line
  • Maintain the proper care and cleanliness of serving equipment. Stack and handle china, glassware, and silver to avoid breakage
  • Communicate food orders to chef, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
  • Deliver food and beverages using a golf cart to the pool area, golf course and other areas as necessary within the club grounds.
  • Stock and maintain the cleanliness and items available at the two golf comfort stations.
  • Complete side-work duties to include but are not limited to dusting, window cleaning, organizing coolers, polishing glassware and silverware, deep cleaning the front of house spaces, organizing and cleaning stocking room, unpacking comfort station food items.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and back of house areas
  • Setting and resetting of tables before, during and after service periods
  • Polish silverware, glassware, share plates and fold napkins as necessary
  • Pre-bus and bussing of tables during service period; assist servers with service steps where necessary
  • Clean all spills, and broken glassware/dishes immediately, using floor signs when necessary
  • Work as a team and effectively communicate with management, servers and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by members and or other associates
  • Expedite food orders and assist servers with beverage service by refilling beverages when appropriate and running beverage to tables.
  • Consistently following Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by Tributary
  • Set up and breakdown for Food and Beverage Events to include, chairs, tables, glassware and other tabletop wares.
  • Adhere to all property and department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to recall member names.
  • Treat all members in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction.

  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform with well-groomed hair and personal hygiene.
