About The Position

This position involves operating a Folder/Gluer Machine to produce printed packaging material according to customer specifications. The role requires preparing and adjusting the machine for high productivity and precision, troubleshooting issues, clearing jams, and ensuring consistent, high-quality output. The operator will also be responsible for quality control, adherence to safety and environmental policies, and contributing to a high-performance team environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Folder/Gluer equipment operation within the food packaging industry.
  • Must have interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights, and measures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and adjust gluer machine, troubleshoot and monitor operation.
  • Prepare gluer by performing a variety of tasks to produce a consistent, high quality product by precise control of feeding, take over and inverting of batches of blanks, setting automatic loading and constant blank heights, maintaining steady and precise feeding at all speeds, making adjustments as needed to exceed customer expectation.
  • Perform a variety of make-ready tasks utilizing quick and easy settings for high productivity and precision operations.
  • Resolve any defects and adjustments to produce high quality product.
  • Oversee General technicians working on equipment.
  • Make adjustments, clear jams while processing product, maintaining speed and quality.
  • Ensure quality of jobs completed by reviewing for quality and accuracy.
  • Make sure jobs are complete and error free.
  • Ensure finished product exceeds customer expectations.
  • Ensure all checklists are completed.
  • Support and communicate all ISO standards and quality objectives to the team.
  • Ensure complete adherence and compliance to OHSE and Clean policies.
  • Assist team members in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintain and follow all company policies and procedures for safety, PPE, and hazardous materials/waste handling according to established guidelines.
  • Follow all PPE procedures at all times.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines for the handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.
  • Maintain and wear proper uniform according to company policy.
  • Use Company-provided safety lifting equipment.
  • Properly store and arrange work area to maintain cleanliness and safe environment following all safety rules and regulations for grounding, storage, spill clean-up, etc.
  • Interact with the team and co-workers in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation, and contributes to excellent performance.
  • Communicate accurate information to all team members in a professional and courteous manner that conveys a willingness to assist.
  • Accept direction and feedback from leadership and follow through appropriately.
  • Create and maintain a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation.
  • Communicate regularly with team toward goals and required results, providing specific feedback and initiating corrective action when goals or results are not met.

  • Be able to perform any and all work or additional tasks as required or requested by Department Leads, Shift Leads, or Management.
