About The Position

Quad Packaging is seeking a Folder/Gluer Operator to join our growing team in Salt Lake City, UT. This position is an 8-hour day shift (6 am-2 pm). This role includes travel for initial training in Franklin, WI and Spartanburg, SC. The Folder Gluer Operator is responsible for setting up and operating folder/gluer equipment to automatically fold, glue, and affix inserts, outserts, security tags, and adhesive labels on pre-printed stock. This role ensures production output meets customer specifications, quality standards, and productivity goals while maintaining safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Experience operating Brausse or Bobst Folding and Gluing equipment is preferred, but we will consider all makes and models.
  • Familiarity with production workflows, quality control, and manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of folding and gluing machinery and related powered equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to analyze production issues and apply logical problem-solving techniques.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English to interpret job orders, production sheets, and work instructions.
  • Effective communication skills to report problems and coordinate with coworkers and supervisors.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic computer skills preferred, including experience with data collection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor folder/gluer machines during production runs.
  • Activate and control production processes; adjust machine settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Synchronize machine speed to maximize crew output and meet production targets.
  • Perform and/or coordinate preventative maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Troubleshoot operating issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Record production data, including time spent on tasks, quantities produced, and job-related information.
  • Operate and oversee more than one feeder/gluer operation simultaneously when required.
  • Occasionally, train employees on folder/gluer machine operations, feeding, and take-off functions.
  • Cross-train on other equipment or operations as assigned.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.

Benefits

  • Employees can be expected to be paid an hourly rate of $22 - $27.50 / hour
