About The Position

Performs all functions in relationship to preparing all foods for meal service for patients and cafeteria. This includes breakfast, lunch, supper, all meats, vegetables, modified diets, special functions and any other food items as directed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling techniques.
  • Knowledge of all kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to follow directions of written recipes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to solve problems independently.
  • Ability to properly identify patients and maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Food preparation experience in a high volume setting.
  • Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing all foods for meal service for patients and cafeteria, including breakfast, lunch, and supper.
  • Preparing meats, vegetables, modified diets, and special function foods.
  • Following written recipes and directions.
  • Adhering to sanitation, food preparation, and handling standards set by federal, state, regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
  • Properly identifying patients and maintaining confidentiality.
