About The Position

Responsible for safe and efficient car inspection and repair at an FMO location. This role involves assuring the safe performance of duties by employees, instructing and training them in proper inspection and repair of railcars, fostering positive employee relations, and maintaining efficient operations. The supervisor also controls operational expenses, serves as a local liaison to host railroad, AAR, and FRA, and has supervision responsibilities for employees represented by a labor organization.

Requirements

• Associate's degree (AA) desirable
• One to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach.
• Occasionally required to move about (stand, walk).
• Must occasionally lift and/or transport up to 10 pounds and infrequently lift/transport over 25 pounds.
• Correctable vision required for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception vision capabilities, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Assure the safe performance of duties by their employees in accordance with Safety Policies.
• Instruct and train employees in the proper inspection and repair of railcars in compliance with current Company and Industry standards.
• Foster positive employee relations, and ensure conformance to Human Resource Policy and Procedures.
• Maintain efficient and productive operation in accordance with Company goals.
• Control expenses related to the location's operations and distribution of labor.
• Serve as local liaison to host railroad, AAR and FRA.
• Supervision responsibilities for employees represented by labor organization.
