At Blue Origin, the mission is to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed to carry people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar space, and beyond. New Glenn’s first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed to be human-capable. As part of the Product Engineering Test Programs team, the Fluids Systems Engineer II supports the design, development, and testing of hardware for the New Glenn second stage (2E). The role contributes throughout the design cycle, from trade studies and conceptual design through requirements definition, structural layout and analysis, integration, testing, and mission support. The engineer applies creative thinking and manufacturing solutions to complex second-stage subsystems, including fluid systems, high-pressure gas, cryogenic propellants, post-combustion products, and highly stressed structural hardware. The position calls for technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality in support of safe human spaceflight. The Washington applicant base pay range is $99,201.00–$138,880.35; ranges at other sites may differ. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
