About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing inventory to be placed on the yard, placing inventory on the yard, and for the final disposition of inventory. The position also includes all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write at a high school level.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
  • Follows standard procedures with no decision-making involved.
  • Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager.
  • Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Prior knowledge of automobiles or mechanics preferred, supplemented by on-the-job training, to learn duties, nature of work performed, procedures, and work methods, to become familiar with the company’s products, locations, machines and equipment, operating methods, and to attain proficiency requirements and to fully assume responsibilities of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Remove all fluids, lubricants and components (ie: converters) as required safely and efficiently, and prep the car for setting on yard.
  • Set out cars as assigned.
  • Record information on cars set accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Fill out appropriate paperwork as required.
  • Work closely with the lift operator to maximize processing.
  • Store all containers of parts in a secure area each night.
  • Label and stretch wrap containers when full.
  • Ensure containers are securely stored at shift end.
  • Ensure all appropriate tools are stored securely at shift end.
  • Prevent sparking and flame sources when working with gasoline.
  • Clean up slip and trip hazards immediately to prevent injury.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
