As a Fluid Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the design development and maintenance of various fluid systems within the nuclear power plant. You will be involved in major projects, whether for operating plant uprates or for the development of our advanced reactors. A Fluid Systems engineer is the owner of the system requirements, and creates and updates the system specification. The engineer is also responsible for the design, owning the creation and the maintenance of the system P&ID, as well as overseeing the detailed piping design. A Fluid Systems engineer will perform the thermal-hydraulic and piping networks engineering design and analysis tasks. You will report to the Engineering Manager of Nuclear Process & Power Conversion Systems. This position is hybrid, requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Township, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear
  • May 2026 and 2025 Grads encouraged to apply
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Familiarity with testing and testing analyses
  • Ability to travel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MathCad, MATLAB, Jupyter/Python or VBA is preferred
  • 1+ years of experience with ASME or API standards
  • Experience with design change control or requirements management
  • Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer License

Responsibilities

  • Develop pump, valve, heat exchanger, HVAC, or other equipment sizing requirements for plant design or modifications.
  • Perform steady-state and dynamic fluid network analyses.
  • Identify problems and propose solutions to projects and tasks that are assigned
  • Communicate nature and status of work performed to appropriate technical lead and management
  • Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs
  • Perform work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements
