It provides essential cell-sorting services to researchers, including the handling of potentially biohazardous samples. The position involves routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments, establishing user authorization programs, and developing comprehensive flow cytometry training programs. The Flow Cytometry Technologist, Sr. serves as a key technical and scientific resource, offering expertise in experimental design, sample preparation, and protocol development for a diverse user base across multiple scientific disciplines. This includes interfacing with equipment field service engineers, managing maintenance contracts, assisting with budgets, preparing billing statements, balancing accounts, and supporting grant applications with data presentation and facility descriptions. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the core laboratory website.
