About The Position

The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals providing remote, on-demand support for legal projects. We are currently seeking a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Florida Estate Planning & Probate Paralegal to join our network due to increased demand. This is a remote, contract-based position with expected work hours of approximately 10+ hours per week.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Paralegal with direct experience in both Florida estate planning and probate matters.
Strong understanding of Florida estate planning, probate administration, court procedures, and filing requirements.
Ability to manage probate matters from initial filing through final distribution and closing of the estate.
Experience gathering and organizing estate assets, financial records, and supporting documentation.
Experience communicating professionally with clients, beneficiaries, personal representatives, financial institutions, and the courts.
Strong calendaring and case management skills with the ability to monitor deadlines and manage multiple active matters.
Experience with the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and electronic court filings.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and excellent drafting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter who can work independently and proactively manage matters with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Experience with estate planning software such as WealthCounsel, Westlaw Form Builder, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

Preparing and drafting wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare surrogate designations, living wills, and other estate planning documents.
Preparing probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court filings.
Managing probate matters from initial filing through final distribution and closing of the estate.
Gathering and organizing estate assets, financial records, and supporting documentation.
Communicating professionally with clients, beneficiaries, personal representatives, financial institutions, and the courts.
Coordinating document signings, witnessing, notarization, and execution of estate planning documents.
Monitoring deadlines and managing multiple active matters using strong calendaring and case management skills.
Utilizing the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal and managing electronic court filings.
