Floral Retail Store Operations Specialist
About The Position
Connells Maple Lee Flowers & Gifts, a 4th Generation family-owned business established in 1937, is a leader in the floral industry. With 19 retail locations and two distribution hubs across two states, we employ over 300 professionals. We are seeking goal-oriented individuals for a meaningful career that brings comfort and joy. This role is ideal for individuals with previous retail/restaurant management experience (perishable product and multi-location experience are a plus) who are interested in management within specialty retail. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment, possess strong leadership skills, work well in a team, enjoy challenges, and approach work ambitiously. This position serves as an "acting manager" in various retail locations, overseeing daily operations and providing support during floral holidays and other busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous retail management experience required.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Able to work without supervision and exhibit leadership.
- Able to make decisions and communicate effectively.
- Able to communicate with management team to achieve goals.
- Experience in scheduling, hiring, training, and disciplinary techniques.
- Able to design according to trained specifications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Able to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Able to handle confidential material and detailed reports.
- Able to drive a delivery vehicle.
- Ability to use personal transportation.

Responsibilities
- Serve as an "acting manager" in various retail locations, as assigned.
- Ensure smooth retail operations by filling in for absent managers or assisting during busy periods.
- Oversee production facilities at major holidays.
- Maintain operational standards and enhance team performance.
- Oversee daily operations within assigned locations.
- Identify and resolve operational issues.
- Provide guidance and leadership to team members.
- Assist in training and onboarding.
- Monitor and uphold company policies and procedures.
- Share best practices and updates across teams.
- Quickly assess and respond to operational challenges and emergencies.
- Adapt to different teams, workflows, and environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
