About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions and taking special orders in person or by phone. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via: Telephone In-store intercom announcements One-on-one customer interaction Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to Store Director as needed. Order balloons, helium tanks, plants, flowers, related merchandise, accessories, and supplies; ensure product freshness and selection. Monitor and respond to special occasion merchandising requirements, sales trends, seasonal promotions, and customer feedback. Plan daily operations; monitor production processes for compliance and profitability. Upgrade plants, make bows, inflate balloons, and prepare bouquets. Prepare floral designs to company standards. Follow and maintain department standards for floral upgrades, balloon upgrades, and candy arrangements. Assist designers and sales employees in completing tasks. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Maintain knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening and closing procedures. Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees on store policies, sales techniques, and record-keeping procedures. Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Enforce proper code dating for all products within the department. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary measures. Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment such as: Pallet jack, hand truck Scissors, knives, safety cutters, stem cutters, chopper, wire Hot glue guns, spray paint, heat sealing machines, helium tanks Perform receiving duties including: Breaking down loads Verifying orders using invoices Inspecting quality and reporting shortages Stocking and rotating product Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Properly condition and handle all indoor/outdoor plants, shrubs, and flowers; follow processing procedures for cut flowers. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Control shrink and costs. Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Ensure proper pricing and signage. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas; ensure code date compliance. Implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment or software malfunctions.
