About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers with product suggestions and special orders (in person or by phone). Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom, and one-on-one interactions. Answer incoming calls and resolve customer complaints; escalate to Store Director when necessary. Floral Operations Order balloons, helium tanks, plants, flowers, related merchandise, accessories, and supplies. Ensure product freshness and selection; monitor special occasion merchandising requirements, sales trends, seasonal promotions, and customer feedback. Upgrade plants, make bows, inflate balloons, and prepare bouquets. Prepare floral designs according to company standards. Follow and maintain department standards for floral upgrades, balloon upgrades, and candy arrangements. Assist designers and sales employees in completing tasks. Staffing & Training Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees on store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary measures. Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Understand and execute opening and closing department procedures. Inventory & Reporting Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to maintain product quantity, quality, and freshness per division directives. Stock and rotate products; maintain and organize cooler. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Control shrink and costs. Product Preparation & Equipment Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment, including: Pallet jack, hand truck Scissors, knives, safety cutters, stem cutters, chopper, wire Hot glue guns, spray paint, heat sealing machines, helium tanks Receiving & Quality Control Perform receiving duties, including: Breaking down loads Verifying orders using invoices Inspecting quality Reporting shortages Stocking and rotating products Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines and follow proper packaging techniques. Properly condition and handle all indoor/outdoor plants, shrubs, and flowers. Follow proper processing procedures for all cut flowers. Compliance & Safety Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Ensure proper pricing and signage. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas. Ensure code date compliance as required. Implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment or software malfunctions. Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
