About The Position

Willow & Thistle is a premier floral design studio located at the Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center in Blue Bell, PA. We specialize in creating bespoke floral arrangements for weddings, events, and everyday celebrations, using high-quality, fresh flowers. We are seeking a creative, passionate, and experienced Floral Designer to join our team on a part-time seasonal, hourly basis to support our busy fall wedding and event season, anticipated from August through December. The role involves creating custom floral arrangements while upholding high standards of design, craftsmanship, quality, and customer service. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours during peak event periods is required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in floral design or a strong passion for floral art and creativity.
  • Knowledge of flower types, color theory, and design principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with occasional evening and weekend hours.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to lift moderate weight (up to 25 pounds) and perform physical tasks like bending, lifting, and arranging flowers.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate well in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Create unique, aesthetically pleasing floral arrangements for weddings, corporate events, parties, and other special occasions.
  • Work with Sales Manager to understand client vision, preferences, and event themes, providing expert advice on flower choices, colors, and designs.
  • Prepare and assemble bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, boutonnieres, and other floral pieces based on client orders and specifications.
  • Monitor inventory levels of flowers and supplies, ensuring stock is well-maintained and fresh. Assist with ordering flowers and materials as needed.
  • Help with event set-up on location, which may include assisting and arranging flowers at the event site.
  • Keep the floral studio organized, clean, and safe, ensuring tools, supplies, and flowers are stored properly.
  • Work alongside other designers and staff to ensure timely execution and a seamless customer experience.
