About The Position

The Floral Associate maintains and operates the floral department, including trimming and preparing floral merchandise according to company and department standards. The role helps ensure the work shift supports the store’s financial interests. Duties include stocking, rotating, pricing, displaying, and caring for floral products; processing shipments; following safety, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines; and completing other assigned duties in a timely manner. The associate may also be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs. The position is based at 2121 South Cleveland Ave., St. Joseph, Michigan 49085. The work takes place in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise is usually low to moderate, and travel requirements vary by assignment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
Basic mathematical skills.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Keep the floral area stocked with fresh flowers, green plants, and blooming plants, and merchandise products attractively to maximize sales.
Follow approved procedures for receiving, code dating, trimming, storing, price marking, and restocking products to protect quality, ensure accuracy, and rotate inventory.
Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
Price, fill, rotate, and merchandise floral shelves, cases, and displays.
Notify the Produce Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Maintain familiarity with department products, including their prices, preparation, and uses.
Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
Process incoming floral shipments in a timely and efficient manner.
Follow PPE and safety guidelines.
Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
Follow guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments when assigned based on customer experience needs.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
