About The Position

This position will require interaction with the customer when placing orders, suggesting products and processing payment for the transaction. Professional and efficient service to customers is expected all while demonstrating a high level of product knowledge. Westborn Market started small in 1963, stocking only the best fruit and vegetables. Over the years we’ve expanded our aisles and locations to better take care of the community. As we grew, so did our family! We’re now a third-generation owned and operated business with four unique locations across Metro Detroit. Our goal is to continue to build on our success. Requirements

• Proper phone etiquette while taking orders or messages
• Demonstrates basic math skills with and without a calculator
• Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
• Knowledge of product to properly assist customers for a positive shopping experience
• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing, and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Operates cash register, including responsibility of cash till
• Wraps flowers and box arrangements
• Assists customers with orders placed
• Waters and maintains all plants according to watering schedule
• Upsell where appropriate
• Provides exceptional customer service
• Stocks supplies as needed
• Maintains current knowledge of product
• Maintains a clean and organized work area free of hazards
• Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy
• Keeps positive and helpful attitude during length of shift
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
