About The Position

General Statement of Duties:

Participates in the general maintenance of a drilling rig.

Supervision Received:

Receives directions from the Driller and overall supervision from the Rig Manager.

Supervision Exercised:

Not Applicable

Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

Perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently and within the parameters of Company policies;
Utilize tongs to connect and disconnect drill pipe/equipment as it is being lowered or raised;
Clean and maintain equipment;
Assist other members of the crew as needed;
Clean, scrub, and paint the rig floor and rig in general;
Drive mobile equipment and run general errands as required;
Take an appropriate part in closing in the well if required;
Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Relevant functional and technical skills;
Team-orientation and the ability to build good relationships with bosses and peers;
Commitment to the demonstration of Savanna’s core values (integrity, relationships, excellence, and sustainability);
Commitment to his/her own learning & development and is able to learn on the fly, particularly with regard to technical skills;
Ability to maintain resilience and perseverance in the face of challenging situations/extreme work conditions;
Attentiveness and good listening skills
Knowledge of rig equipment and safety practices;
Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

Education and Experience:

Must have valid H2S Alive ticket, Standard First Aid ticket, and eGSO;
Relevant experience of field work in the oilfield services industry;
Completion of Savanna’s Greenhand Program.
