About The Position

The Floorhand will work with a 3-5 person crew performing maintenance and repairs on oil & gas wells. This role is responsible for operating the mud pump, pipe wranglers, mixing fluids, and performing equipment upkeep. The Floorhand will also pick up/lay down pipe and latch/unlatch tubing in elevators, and perform derrick operations. Additionally, the Floorhand will assist in loading and off-loading pipe and other items, assist with rigging up and rigging down the workover rig, and work in the shop or assist in yard maintenance when necessary. This role also involves assisting in repairs and preparing the workover rig for deployment, reporting any and all incidents to the Rig Supervisor or Foreman immediately, and servicing and maintaining all equipment associated with the rig. The Floorhand will work floors, train other members of the crew in derrick operations, run the rig for the operator as needed, and manage crew members when relief operating. Other various tasks such as roustabout projects as assigned by the Rig Supervisor or Foreman will also be performed.

Has basic computer skills; data entry into various electronic databases or the ability to learn

Attend and participate in daily and monthly safety meetings
Report to work on time and fit for duty; able to work in all weather conditions
Possess organizational and problem-solving skills
Possess a valid driver’s license, CDL a plus (may be required in some locations)
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Able to pass a pre-employment drug and background check
Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited, state-certified program
Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on-call rotation
Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
Capable of rigorous outdoor activities with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment

Nice To Haves

Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred
Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within oil and gas facilities preferred

Responsibilities
