About The Position

At Velociti, Floor Technicians are responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet, including tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting. This role covers various areas including offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public spaces like break rooms. Success in this role involves complying with safety rules, performing work assignments collaboratively, maintaining a clean work area, following company procedures, taking direction, communicating professionally, and filling in during staff shortages. The technician will support the shift lead in completing punch-list items, use proper personal protective equipment, and present a professional appearance and conduct. A strong understanding of customer service and satisfaction, reporting systems, and instilling trust are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent education
Minimum 1 year experience in floor care
Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance
Knowledge and experience operating various pieces of equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers
Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment
Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills

Nice To Haves

Janitorial or laborer experience in a facility setting is preferred

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance checks on all equipment before use
Secure the work area and post safety notices before beginning work
Perform floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells
Vacuum, shampoo, bonnet, and extract carpets, stairwells, and upholstery
Wall cleaning
Dusting (high and low)
Routine restroom cleaning
Routine office and break room cleaning
Maintenance of floor care equipment
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
Maintain clean work area
Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
Take direction and respond to supervision
Communicate professionally with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers
Fill in during staff shortage
Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
Use proper personal protective equipment
Present a professional appearance and conduct
Understand customer service and satisfaction
Understand reporting systems and the environment
Instill trust
