About The Position
The Floor Technician will maintain, clean, and sanitize all floors, ensuring they are visually appealing and meet UG2 standards. Working as a Floor Technician will mean you’re responsible for keeping high standards of cleanliness and safety as well as operating cleaning equipment and organizing and maintaining supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Custodial or related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
- Previous experience stripping and finishing a variety of floors including Terrazzo and VCT preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform floor care and cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing throughout the DMU campus and facilities.
- Stripping & Refinishing floors.
- Extract carpets.
- Remove and transport waste to proper disposal areas.
- Keep accurate information on floor care logs and checklists.
- Able to keep inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Aid in the on-the-job training of new staff.
- Ability to Run, walk-behind scrubbers, walk-behind extractors, and swing buffers.
- Able to steam clean upholstery.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Report any notable damages and concerns.
- Adhere to workplace safety standards.
- Use of PPE is required in accordance with the job task.
