About The Position

Floor Technicians are responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public places such as break rooms. Success is measured by complying with safety rules, policies, and procedures, performing work assignments in a team with other employees, maintaining a clean work area, following all company procedures, policies, and rules, taking direction and responding to supervision, communicating professionally with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers, filling in during staff shortages, supporting shift leads in completing punch-list items, using proper personal protective equipment, presenting a professional appearance and conduct, understanding customer service and satisfaction, understanding reporting systems and the environment, and instilling trust. Critical areas of collaboration include a solid commitment to the guest experience, always remembering safety first, building respectful relationships with all teammates and guests, willingness to take directions from the Facility Manager, Key Account Manager, or District Manager, coordinating activities with other internal departments, and participating in team meetings.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in floor care.
  • Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance.
  • Knowledge and experience operating various pieces of equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers.
  • Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills.
  • Willingness to take directions from the Facility Manager, Key Account Manager, or District Manager

Nice To Haves

  • Janitorial or laborer experience in a facility setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on all equipment before use
  • Before beginning work, secure the work area and post safety notices for other space users.
  • Floors care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
  • Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery
  • Wall cleaning
  • Dusting (high and low)
  • Routine restroom cleaning
  • Routine office and break room cleaning
  • Maintenance of floor care equipment
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
  • Maintain clean work area
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Communicate professionally with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers.
  • Fill in during staff shortage
  • Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
