About The Position

The Floor Technician position is responsible for performing scheduled floor care tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This role involves maintaining all floor surfaces, including buffing, waxing, stripping, and top scrubbing floors. The technician will also extract and vacuum carpets, use proper chemicals and equipment, and identify and correct safety hazards. Additionally, the position requires reporting repair needs, requesting supplies, and ensuring patient/resident safety. The role may also include general cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, and arranging furniture.

Requirements

Experience in Floor Care.
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Nice To Haves

Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

Performs scheduled floor care tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Maintains all floor surfaces.
Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment.
Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
Ensures patient/resident safety.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Mops, sweeps, dusts, washes windows, shampoos and vacuums carpets, arranges furniture, and generally cleans furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.
