About The Position

Aldersgate is hiring a Full-Time Floor Care Technician to join our Environmental Services/Housekeeping team. The primary purpose of your position is to support the independent residents' health and well-being by ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of the resident's apartments, homes, rooms as well as common areas by performing various routine cleaning and light maintenance procedures, observing universal precautions, and maintaining a trustworthy relationship with residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Previous floor care experience preferred
  • Must have a knowledge and understanding of floor care procedures
  • High School or GED equivalent is preferred
  • Must possess knowledge of general floor care/housekeeping procedures and operations of equipment

Responsibilities

  • Assist and participate in all in-house moves and setups.
  • Train and instruct new employees on housekeeping mechanical equipment; monitor work performance and provide guidance and instructions as required.
  • Provide team support and back-up for other floor techs and housekeepers as required.
  • Maintain schedule for floor and carpet maintenance and refurbishment.
  • Assist with ordering and inventory of housekeeping supplies.
  • Arrange furniture setups for special events.
  • Inspect and report any mechanical, structural or electrical condition in need of repair or replacement.
  • Recommends, develops, and implements changes or procedures to improve the overall effectiveness of the department.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and a positive, calm environment.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Clean and maintain carpets and flooring in accordance with Aldersgate’s policy and procedures.
  • Attend educational seminars and/or conferences to remain up to date on new techniques of carpet and floor care.
