About The Position

This position is responsible for all molding machine operator floor support duties. The role involves operating molding machines during operator breaks, clipping, trimming, visually inspecting, and packaging quality products according to documented instructions. The Floor Person is also responsible for maintaining proper housekeeping by clearing and cleaning the workspace, completing all production-related paperwork accurately, and performing checks against QA samples. Additionally, the role includes monitoring and reporting scrap, assisting molders during machine changes, inspecting machines for potential malfunctions, and utilizing IQMS software for scheduling, material provision, and label production. The Floor Person will also set up operator workstations for the next production order and must be willing and able to obtain a fork truck permit for material movement. A key aspect of the role is adhering to all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures, and safety practices. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment including steel toe shoes.
Understand basic math
Computer skills- Ability to learn IQMS software a must
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Attention to detail is very important
Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).

Manufacturing (injection molding) experience very helpful.

Responsibilities

Operate molding machines (Operator Breaks).
Clip, trim, visually inspect and package quality products as required in the documented instructions.
Ensure proper housekeeping by clearing and cleaning the workspace.
Complete all paperwork pertaining to production neatly and correctly following all quality standards.
Perform checks and compare parts with the QA samples.
Monitor, record and report all scrap.
Assist molders during machine changes as needed.
Perform inspection of machine to identify potential malfunctions.
Utilize IQMS to understand schedule, provide correct materials, and produce labels.
Set up operator workstations per next production order.
Obtain a fork truck permit to move materials as needed.
Follow all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
