About The Position

This position is responsible for all molding machine operator floor support duties. The role involves operating molding machines during operator breaks, clipping, trimming, visually inspecting, and packaging quality products according to documented instructions. Ensuring proper housekeeping by clearing and cleaning the workspace is also a key responsibility. The Floor Person will complete all production-related paperwork accurately and in accordance with quality standards, perform checks comparing parts with QA samples, and monitor, record, and report all scrap. Additionally, they will assist molders during machine changes, inspect machines for potential malfunctions, and utilize IQMS to understand the schedule, provide correct materials, and produce labels. Setting up operator workstations for the next production order and obtaining a fork truck permit to move materials are also part of the role. The Floor Person must follow all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures, and safety practices. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment including steel toe shoes.
  • Understand basic math
  • Computer skills- Ability to learn IQMS software a must
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Attention to detail is very important
  • Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing (injection molding) experience very helpful.

Responsibilities
