About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides quality nursing care to patients of all ages, from birth through elderly adulthood. The role involves delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while respecting patients’ rights, dignity, cultural diversity, and individual needs. The LPN works collaboratively with the nursing team and other healthcare professionals, using their scope of practice to ensure safe and effective patient care. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the assigned area.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program.
• Current and valid LPN license in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification.
• Must successfully complete and maintain required position competencies.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic nursing practices.
• Ability to provide appropriate care in a patient care setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric patients and their care needs.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment and medical instruments relevant to patient care.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of hospital experience is preferred.
• IV certification is preferred.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care to patients across all age groups.
• Uphold patients’ rights, privacy, dignity, and cultural considerations when delivering care.
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural awareness in patient care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Assist with maintaining adequate medical supplies and ensuring patient care areas are properly stocked.
• Screen and respond to incoming calls, referring concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals when necessary.
• Assist mid-level healthcare providers with clinical support as needed.
• Support organizational policies, standards, and mission.
