About The Position

Floor nurse – providing excellence in clinical care. At our behavioral health center (an Independent Care Facility or ICF), Nurses play a key role in helping our residents feel safe, respected, and supported as they work toward their clinical and recovery goals. You’ll be part of a close-knit, multidisciplinary team that values compassion, collaboration, and stability in care. Frankfort Terrace is a 120-bed Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) specializing in behavioral health, serving adults typically between the ages of 30 and 50. The most common diagnoses we support include severe depression, personality disorders, chemical dependency, and non-violent schizophrenia. Our team takes pride in building genuine relationships and helping each resident on their journey toward psychological rehabilitation, healing, and healthy living.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in IL
  • Prior floor nurse experience within a skilled nursing facility is strongly preferred
  • Experience with the post-acute patients – specifically the cardiac, post op ortho & the medically complex
  • Electronic medical records experience is helpful (Point Click Care or PCC is ideal)
  • New Grads are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a behavioral health setting
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with individualized care plans
  • Observe resident progress and respond thoughtfully to changes in condition
  • Support and guide CNAs while working together as a unified care team
  • Help maintain a calm, structured, and therapeutic environment, using de-escalation skills when needed
  • Deliver meaningful nursing care to a consistent, structured resident population
  • Collaborate closely with providers, therapists, and care coordinators
  • Work within clear clinical protocols with strong leadership support
  • Use iPads for efficient, real-time bedside documentation
  • Strengthen and grow your behavioral health nursing skills
