About The Position

Busy Bar & Restaurant is seeking an experienced and driven Floor Manager to support our General Manager and play a key leadership role in daily operations. This is a hands-on position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume New York City environment and takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences. We are looking for a hospitality professional who shows up every day ready to ensure the restaurant is fully set up for success-leading by example and acting as the face of the floor during service.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in high-volume, highly rated NYC restaurants preferred
  • Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Experience with Toast POS, OpenTable, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of NYC hospitality standards, DOH compliance, and labor practices
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Event planning experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all front-of-house operations under the guidance of the General Manager
  • Act as the primary floor presence, ensuring service standards are executed at the highest level
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to inspect the restaurant's readiness, cleanliness, and overall presentation
  • Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all FOH/BOH areas, equipment, and facilities
  • Supervise staff performance, providing real-time coaching, direction, and support
  • Guide, train, and motivate service staff while maintaining strong floor awareness
  • Monitor guest flow and proactively address bottlenecks or service gaps
  • Personally oversee and engage with VIP tables and key guests
  • Anticipate guest needs and build relationships with regulars, VIPs, and new clientele
  • Oversee and manage comp and void reporting
  • Oversee tip reporting and ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure all service areas are fully stocked with necessary supplies (tableware, glassware, linens, etc.)
  • Maintain clear communication with the kitchen regarding pacing, guest needs, and service quality
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
