About The Position

The Floor Manager ensures that Members and guests have a pleasant and memorable experience at Lakewood Yacht Club (LYC). This role involves monitoring the setup, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of dining, banquet, and bar areas. The Floor Manager supervises and trains service staff, and is required to act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Food and Beverage Manager. Key responsibilities include completing opening and closing duties, coordinating food service between the kitchen and service staff, and enforcing Club Rules and policies. This individual reports directly to the Food and Beverage Manager, with additional reporting responsibilities to the Assistant General Manager and General Manager.

  • Proficient in computer skills including POS systems, Word and Excel.
  • Professional appearance appropriate for a premier yacht club.
  • Must exhibit an excellent service attitude and be willing to go out of their way to accommodate the Members and exceed their expectations.
  • Must be considerate, patient and willing to help out fellow employees.
  • Must be able to tolerate pressure and work calmly and efficiently during busy times.
  • Must handle Member complaints according to Club policies and procedures.
  • Possess the highest work ethics, personal morals and honesty beyond reproach.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate Members' needs and ensure that service meets/exceeds expectations for a memorable and pleasant dining experience.
  • Maintain communication with and support the Food and Beverage Manager, Assistant General Manager, and General Manager.
  • Inspect dining room, bar, and banquet rooms for proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety, taking immediate action to correct any issues.
  • Set banquet rooms according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Assist with monthly inventory.
  • Receive and greet members and guests, and assist with seating.
  • Check tables throughout service times for Member satisfaction and resolve Member/guest complaints.
  • Enforce Club rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Supervise service staff and maintain uniform service standards.
  • Conduct pre-meal meetings with service staff.
  • Ensure side work is completed daily and dining room supplies are stocked, reporting any shortages.
  • Review daily specials, stations, and other applicable announcements.
  • Train new-hires in service standards, menu items, and use of the Northstar POS system.
  • Maintain the service training manual and conduct daily service training as part of pre-meal meetings.
  • Coordinate food service between the kitchen and service staff.
  • Act as the initial contact for disciplinary actions, ensuring consistency and accuracy, and providing detailed accounts of issues to the Food and Beverage Manager.
  • Review daily and weekly functions with the Food and Beverage Manager.
  • Lead to achieve desired results in high-quality service and experience for Members and Guests.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
