Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Three years’ experience working in the Mental Health and Developmental Disability field with at least one year of prior supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Human Services

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety, welfare, and the preservation of rights of clients.
  • Maintains high visibility on the unit and the work/activity areas of clients and staff of assigned unit.
  • Directly supervises Shift Supervisors, and Direct Support Professionals indirectly. Providing direction, instruction, support, and assistance to ensure job duties and responsibilities of assigned staff are completed in a timely manner.
  • Completes monitoring of client activities across all shifts to ensure client treatment plans and facility policies are followed.
  • Meets with subordinates on a regular basis to share information and provide training regarding client treatment plans and facility policies.
  • Ensure staff attendance at trainings and in-services. Assists Interdisciplinary Team members with training residential staff.
  • Ensures the unit has adequate supplies as needed to carry out treatment plans and orders additional supplies as needed.
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Function as a member of IDT for each client in his/her home.
  • Complete Floor Manager section of the Integrated Assessment for each assigned client at least annually (and more often if/when warranted).
  • Collaborate with unit’s Case Manager to identify community opportunities for individuals to participate in that complement their Enrichment Center classes or interests.
  • Will ensure that client’s personal inventory is completed monthly or as needed. Collaborates with case manger to ensure client has adequate clothing, personal items and a well decorated bedroom.
  • Reviews and monitors to ensure documentation for assigned home is completed. If necessary, takes immediate action of noted concerns.
  • Monitors and oversees all residential services to ensure quality services to the individuals and that the Unit is in compliance with all relevant internal, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Will complete staffing schedules on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Will take part of the hiring process for DSP’s and Shift Supervisors.
  • Learn and follow all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
