About The Position

Responsible for stacking boxes on pallets by size and type, ensuring organized and secure stacking with proper strapping. Also responsible for transferring avocados to conveyor feeds to maintain continuous operation of bagging machines. Duties may vary based on demand and will be directed by supervisor or lead. Must begin work on time and complete work in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Requires undergoing safety and job training pertinent to the role.

Requirements

• Stack pallets according to company and customer quality standards.
• Willingness to learn and carry out any new process established in the workplace.
• Able to lift or move up to 45 pounds.
• Able and willing to be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, temperatures between 35 and 45 degrees.
• Safely work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, stoop, kneel, crouch, smell, etc., as needed to perform essential tasks.
• Ability to work overtime if needed.
• Ability to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Stacking boxes on pallets by size and type.
• Ensuring pallets are stacked in an organized manner and securely strapped.
• Transferring avocados onto conveyor feed to ensure continuous operations of the bagging machines.
• Understanding various pallet configurations based on different boxes and stacking units accordingly.
• Utilizing supporting stacking materials like corner boards, pallet wraps, or straps.
• Ensuring the working area is always clean and ready according to company standards.
• Understanding various pallet types (e.g., “PECO,” “CHEP,”) used based on customer needs.
• Dumping avocados to ensure a safe and continuous feed for bagging machine operations.
