Requirements

  • Minimum of 0-1 years related experience.
  • Must successfully complete Noble Drilling’s industry specific training and orientation.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 18 years or older.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money and weigh measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • Must regularly lift and move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Operates machines and maintains equipment used in surface drilling operations.
  • Assists the driller in a multitude of functions on the rig floor.
  • Works on rig floor while tripping (pull slips) and makes connections.
  • Assists Derrick Hand and Motor Man.
  • Keeps rig, equipment, and location tidy as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs basic care and maintenance of rig, tools, equipment, and trucks.
  • Cleans restroom house every shift.
  • Organizes and maintains: Conex, XO basket, tools, slips, bowls, welding trailer.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.
  • Follows the correct chain of command.
  • Reports all safety problems or violations immediately.
