About The Position

Boys Town is seeking a Floor Care Technician to maintain floor surfaces and stairwells at the West Hospital (140th & Pacific). This is an on-call position, requiring availability to cover shifts Monday-Friday between 5p-1:30a. The role involves a variety of floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, polishing, scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing hard-surface floors, as well as vacuuming, spot cleaning, and extracting carpeted surfaces. The technician will also perform routine operational maintenance of cleaning equipment, general cleaning and disinfection in various assigned areas according to regulatory standards, and utilize appropriate PPE. The position may also involve operating a truck-mounted unit, troubleshooting equipment, orienting and training new staff, reporting safety concerns, and using a Boys Town vehicle for transport. Completion of required training and competencies is also expected, with potential for other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Minimum 23 years of age required
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required
  • Pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check at non-BTNRH location required

  • Minimum of 1-year 6 months floor care experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sweeps, mops, buffs, polishes, scrubs, strips, and refinishes hard-surface floors using heavy equipment
  • Vacuums, spot cleans, and extracts carpeted floor surfaces
  • May clean and extract upholstered surfaces and furniture
  • Performs routine operational maintenance of cleaning equipment per manufacturer specifications
  • Performs routine and maintenance cleaning processes in assigned areas in accordance with all regulatory standards
  • Utilizes appropriate PPE based on task and precautions
  • Operates a truck-mounted unit while cleaning or restoring surfaces and upholstery
  • Troubleshoots repair of floor care equipment as needed
  • Orients and trains student workers new colleagues as needed
  • Reports safety concerns when identified, i.e. tripping hazards, equipment malfunction, environmental concerns, etc.
  • Utilizes Boys Town vehicle to transport supplies and equipment to work locations
  • Complete required training and competencies assigned
  • May perform other duties as assigned
