About The Position
We are seeking a Floor Care Technician with at least 1 year of experience to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of various floor surfaces. This role involves operating floor care machinery, performing deep cleaning and maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols. The position is located at the Fort Lee Commissary in Virginia and offers both Part Time & Full Time employment opportunities. The schedule varies and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience working as a commercial floorcare technician, janitor, or similar role.
- Experience using floor care machines like buffers, auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.
- Knowledge of floor types (tile, vinyl, carpet, concrete) and how to clean and maintain each properly.
- Valid RealID
- Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Responsibilities
- Clean and care for a variety of floor surfaces (tile, vinyl, carpet, concrete) using appropriate methods.
- Perform regular sweeping, mopping, and scheduled deep cleaning.
- Operate floor care machines such as buffers, auto-scrubbers, carpet extractors, burnishers, and vacuums.
- Perform advanced floor care services including stripping old wax/finish, applying new coatings, buffing, and deep-cleaning carpets.
- Follow safety guidelines when working with cleaning chemicals and equipment, and wear proper personal protective gear (PPE).
- Use all equipment safely and ensure it is cleaned, stored properly, and in good working order.
- Follow OSHA and facility safety standards.
- Work independently or with a team to complete daily duties and larger cleaning projects.
- Communicate with supervisor about equipment issues, supply needs, or floor damage.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional space by keeping floors free of spills, dirt, and slip hazards.
