About The Position

Carlson is hiring dependable Floor Care Technicians to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming retail environments in North Canton, Ohio. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently, and can reliably report for very early morning shifts. Schedules are based on the needs of the location and may include weekends, holidays, and availability across a seven-day workweek. Assigned days and hours may change as operational needs change. Specific scheduling details will be discussed during the hiring process.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Previous floor care, janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
Willingness to learn how to operate professional floor care equipment.
Dependable transportation to and from the work location.
Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
Ability to communicate respectfully with coworkers, customers, and store personnel.
Availability for very early morning hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Flexibility to work changing schedules based on operational needs.
Ability to regularly lift up to 45 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, push, and pull throughout the shift.
Ability to push and pull floor care equipment across concrete, tile, and carpeted surfaces.
Ability to work safely around wet floors, cleaning products, and mechanical equipment.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, burnish, and maintain hard-surface flooring.
Vacuum, shampoo, spot-clean, and extract carpeted areas.
Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and other floor care equipment safely.
Clean restrooms, offices, breakrooms, entrances, and other assigned areas.
Remove trash and maintain clean, organized work and storage areas.
Follow daily task lists and complete assignments within scheduled hours.
Inspect equipment and report maintenance issues, damage, or supply shortages.
Place safety signs, cones, and barriers around wet or actively serviced areas.
Follow all safety procedures and cleaning-product instructions.
Work independently and with other Carlson team members to meet customer expectations.
Assist with additional cleaning and floor care duties as assigned.
