About The Position

Carlson Building Maintenance is hiring a Floor Care Technician in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, to maintain hard floor surfaces and carpets in a large retail environment. The role involves operating professional floor care equipment and completing assigned cleaning projects independently. No prior floor care experience is required; hands-on training and support are provided. This is a direct-hire position with weekly pay every Friday and opportunities for career growth and advancement. The schedule is 5:00 AM to 10:42 AM, approximately 39.50 hours per week, with weekend availability and a consistent seven-day schedule required. Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply, and bilingual onboarding is available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull floor care equipment.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be available to work a consistent seven-day schedule, including weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Previous floor care, janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
• Spanish-speaking or bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, extractors, and other floor care equipment.
• Maintain hard floor surfaces by scrubbing, buffing, stripping, and waxing.
• Vacuum, shampoo, bonnet, and extract carpeted areas.
• Perform general cleaning and restroom cleaning as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and cleaning standards.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment.
• Complete assigned cleaning projects independently and efficiently.
