Floor Care Technician
About The Position
Provide regular cleaning of carpeted and tile floors in a large office complex as well as bathroom sanitizing. Follow a set rotation of cleaning various areas of an 800,000+ square foot office complex using carpet extractors, buffers, bathroom sanitizing equipment and other specialty equipment. Additionally, this position is responsible for spot cleaning areas on an as needed basis as requested. Perform other work as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least six months of experience working with various equipment, performing floor care work including extracting and bonneting carpets, buffing tile floors, stripping and waxing tile floors and spot cleaning carpet
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Current valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months (based on Virginia DMV point system)
- Out-of-state records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview
- Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date
- Pre-employment drug testing required
- FBI criminal background check required
- Education/degree verification required
- Passing a more stringent criminal background check required (due to CJIS Security Policy for high security areas)
Nice To Haves
- Two years or more of experience in the custodial field preferred
- Highly motivated and energetic
