About The Position

The Flood Specialist will perform independent review and analysis of new loan applications, appraisals, and write-ups/conversation logs to determine flood insurance requirements, validate proof of coverage, and monitor the Loan Origination System (LOS) for changes and updates prior to giving a clear to close the loan. This role ensures all flood insurance cancellations, renewals, and escrowed invoices are processed timely, accurately, and meet compliance regulations. The specialist will also monitor incoming FEMA map changes, determine their validity, and act on documentation in accordance with procedure. Additionally, they will review internal and external reports to accurately maintain loan tracking information and overall compliance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA). The position involves assisting in the development and recommending changes to procedures for increased accuracy and efficiency, maintaining awareness of and adherence to the Bank’s compliance requirements and risk management concepts, and delivering a consistent, high level of service within our Serving More standards. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent review and analysis of new loan application, appraisal, write up/conversation log in order to determine flood insurance requirements, validate proof of coverage, and monitor LOS for changes and updates prior to giving a clear to close the loan
  • Ensure all flood insurance cancellations, renewals, escrowed invoices are processed timely, accurately and meet compliance regulations
  • Monitor incoming FEMA map changes, determine the change validity and act on documentation in accordance with procedure
  • Review internal and external reports to accurately maintain loan tracking information as well as overall compliance with the FDPA
  • Assist in the development and recommend changes to procedures that will lead to increased accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain awareness of and adherence to Bank’s compliance requirements and risk management concepts, expectations, policies and procedures and apply them to daily tasks
  • Deliver a consistent, high level of service within our Serving More standards
