The Floating Service (Maintenance) Technician is responsible for responding to maintenance requests as instructed. This position supports the Service Manager and Property Manager as needed to ensure the physical aspects of the assigned properties meet Mission Rock’s established standards and any applicable laws.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Yardi, preferred
  • EPA (Type II) and/or HVAC Certification
  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in maintenance, preferably in property management (at least 300 units), other building maintenance, or related trade
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others, to self-regulate, and to de-escalate and defuse tense or antagonistic situations
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned work order requests are responded to promptly and professionally
  • Responsible for the complete preparation of vacant units for occupancy (unit turn/make-ready), in accordance with Company standards and within specified timeframe
  • Assist with diagnosing problems and repairs for the property, which may include such areas as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, swimming pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structural, and appliances
  • Assist with the vendor bidding process, and schedule and communicate with vendors and contractors, as needed
  • Inspect buildings to ensure safety and cleanliness, alerting the Service Manager and Property Manager immediately to items that need to be addressed
