About The Position

This role involves floating to assigned stores within the area to help cover Pharmacy Departments. The Floating Pharmacist oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department, assists in the training and development of subordinate staff, estimates personnel needs, assigns work, meets completion dates, and interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies. This position relies on experience and professional judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. The primary responsibility is the implementation and adherence to the Kinney Standard of Practice for providing the highest quality health care service to customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum: BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy
  • Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy
  • Ability to stand/walk throughout the majority of the shift
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment and/or random drug screening test
  • Certified Immunizer
  • Must be able to travel between stores to cover within an assigned area as scheduled
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Basic keyboarding skill

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions and counsel patients following the Kinney Standard of Practice.
  • Perform all quality assurance steps to ensure technically accurate prescription dispensing.
  • Report dispensing incidents in a timely manner according to company guidelines.
  • Adhere to all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Oversee the initial submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims.
  • Manage and balance pharmacy inventory for maximum turns while maintaining stock levels.
  • Oversee the transmitting, processing, and receiving of orders from the Kinney Warehouse and other suppliers.
  • Oversee the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing of returns.
  • Ensure prescription files and other manual records are maintained according to state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure in-store pharmacy technology is utilized to its fullest potential for maximum return on investment and lifespan.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times.
  • Ensure all loss prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations.
  • Assist in the implementation of all corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising, and promotional programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with doctors and other health service professionals.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields and integrate them into practice.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Facilitate communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
  • Assist in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within guidelines.
  • Assist in the training and development of all pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program.
  • Interface with various auditors and outside agencies as needed.
  • Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
