About The Position

GSF Properties Inc. is seeking a Floating Maintenance Technician II to join their dynamic property management team in Madera and Firebaugh, CA. This role involves performing a wide range of maintenance functions across two communities (150 total units), including unit turns, painting, plumbing, and electrical work. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining and improving the overall appearance of the properties, including residential common areas, office spaces, grounds, and parking lots. This position is crucial in ensuring the communities are well-maintained and operate in alignment with ownership and management objectives.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of maintenance or related experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and general repairs
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based systems
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Hardworking, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities, follow directions, and accept feedback
  • Available Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with on-call as needed
  • Valid CA driver’s license; able to travel between Firebaugh and Madera

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Manager and Portfolio Manager to ensure all maintenance and grounds are well maintained
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair work, including appliances, carpentry, hardware, and basic HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Complete service requests and work orders in a timely manner in accordance with company standards
  • Prepare vacant units to ensure they are market-ready and meet quality expectations
  • Maintain community grounds, curb appeal, and manage trash and common areas
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, team members, and vendors
  • Assist with annual unit inspections and identify necessary repairs or improvements
  • Report lease violations and community concerns to management
  • Coordinate with management to schedule vendors and order supplies as needed
  • Ensure excellent curb appeal across both Firebaugh and Madera communities
