This position is responsible for assisting the store manager maintain and supervise a well-organized and efficient store that creates an enjoyable shopping environment for customers. The Floating Assistant Store Manager provides direction and supervision of employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, and performing services for customers using established policies and procedures. They are responsible for opening and closing the store, performing mid-shift duties, and working towards achieving budgeted sales quotas by managing inventory, pricing merchandise, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role involves building and maintaining a motivated sales staff, informing them of promotions and policies, training and evaluating performance, and providing feedback to the Store Manager. Additionally, the Floating Assistant Store Manager completes sales reports, manages inventory, orders stock, maintains sales logs, processes payroll, schedules personnel, and tallies money daily. They are also responsible for displaying and merchandising stock, managing customer complaints, performing subordinate tasks such as cleaning and organizing, and working with program staff to provide a rewarding training experience for program participants. This includes scheduling daily tasks, evaluating performance, and making recommendations to the program coordinator. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of all policies and procedures and ensure compliance, and perform other duties as assigned.
