About The Position

Redwood Credit Union is seeking a Floater Member Relationship Specialist to perform a variety of member service duties, including new accounts, loan transactions and documentation, and providing excellent member service. This role contributes to branch success by selling and referring Credit Union products. As the face of the organization, you will serve a critical role by providing exceptional service to all credit union and community members, volunteers, team members, and service providers.

Requirements

Knowledge of financial institution products and services, including loans.
Thorough knowledge of personal computers with internet/intranet access and office equipment operation.
Skilled in counting and balancing cash.
Skilled in the operation of office equipment including personal computers with Internet and intranet access.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
Ability to identify errors and make corrections.
Ability to effectively cross-sell products and services using a needs-based sales approach.
Ability and desire to work in a team environment.
Ability to work a rotating schedule which will include working on rotating Saturdays.
Valid California Driver’s License required.
Ability to travel frequently from branch location to branch location.
Ability to obtain and maintain registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry in compliance with the requirements of Federal Law, including the SAFE ACT and NCUA part 761.
Position requires the ability to be a registered and designated Credit Endorsee with the California Department of Insurance.
At least 18 months experience in retail sales and/or cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent service to all Members, volunteers, internal employees, and service providers.
Cross-sell RCU and RCUSG products and services.
Open accounts and match Member needs to RCU and RCUSG products and services.
Determine the appropriate loan product(s) to meet the Member(s) needs.
Obtain information from Member to complete loan application; examine and collect proper loan documents.
Complete loan-funding process and recommend additional products or services to meet Member needs.
Research Member questions, problems, and complaints and respond with accurate information.
Safeguard member information and ensure confidentiality by following established policy and procedures.
Perform file maintenance on all types of accounts.
Perform accurate teller transactions and reconcile cash nightly.
Conduct audits of Credit Union documents and files.
Answer phone and efficiently complete phone requests.
Participate in branch, departmental, and company meetings.
Perform branch opening and closing duties.
Primarily employed to cover designated branch locations in the event of a staffing crisis that results from employee illnesses, medical leaves, resignations/terminations, or other operational needs.
