A Touch of Love Home Care is actively hiring Floater Caregiver (Leadership Role) in Russell County AL, Lee County AL, Muscogee County GA and Harris County GA to support seniors with personal care, mobility assistance, companionship, and daily living needs. This position requires flexibility, reliability, and strong leadership skills to step in seamlessly when coverage is needed. The Floater Caregiver is expected to adapt quickly to different client environments while maintaining high-quality care standards and supporting overall team operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of caregiving or healthcare experience (home care preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel within service area
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must pass background check and all required screenings
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to guide by example
  • High level of reliability and accountability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and clients
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional demeanor with a compassionate approach to care
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must have open availability and flexibility
  • Ability to accept assignments on short notice
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends if needed
  • Maintain consistent communication with the scheduling team

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care, including assistance with: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting Mobility assistance and transfers Meal preparation and light housekeeping
  • Fill in for scheduled caregivers during: Call-outs Schedule gaps Increased client needs
  • Travel to multiple client locations as assigned
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in AxisCare
  • Communicate effectively with Scheduling, Intake, and Leadership regarding: Client condition changes Scheduling updates Incidents or concerns
  • Ensure adherence to each client’s individualized care plan
  • Uphold professionalism and represent the agency with excellence in all environments
  • Serve as a role model for caregivers in professionalism, punctuality, and quality of care
  • Assist in orienting or guiding new caregivers in the field when needed
  • Help identify and report workflow or care concerns to leadership
  • Provide feedback on client assignments and caregiver performance when applicable
  • Step into challenging situations with a solution-focused mindset
  • When not actively assigned to a client shift, Floaters may: Assist with caregiver coverage coordination support Perform check-in calls with clients and caregivers Support administrative tasks (documentation audits, follow-ups, etc.) Participate in training, skill-building, or quality improvement initiatives Be available for on-call or same-day assignments
