About The Position

The Floater Behavioral Aide will support educational plans, provide instructional assistance, and respond to emergency situations. This role involves traveling to different locations within the assigned region and requires availability for approximately a 6.5-hour shift between Monday and Friday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with the exact schedule varying based on assignment. The aide will also supervise students during various activities, model Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies, record daily data on student progress and behavior, and maintain open communication with supervisors and agency staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in a school or treatment setting, working with students needing learning, social, emotional, or behavioral assistance.
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance required.
  • Proficient with standard software applications and the internet.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Reliability, dependability, and flexibility are crucial.
  • Valid/current driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Pro-ACT, CPI intervention training, and/or CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
  • Provide instructional support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Report to different locations 30+ miles one-way within the assigned region.
  • Be available to work approximately a 6.5-hour shift between the hours of Monday-Friday 6AM-4:30PM (varies based on assignment).
  • Respond to emergency situations (e.g., fights, seizures) and intervene using Pro-ACT and/or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) methods.
  • Monitor and assist students during class breaks, meals, transportation, and bathroom use.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate activities like athletics, crafts, and off-campus trips.
  • Demonstrate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies to increase or decrease targeted behaviors.
  • Record daily data on student behavior, skills progression, incidents, and learning objectives.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and agency staff regarding student status and any potential issues.
