About The Position

DaVita is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide life-giving care in a hospital setting to patients dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. The role emphasizes empathetic and compassionate care. DaVita's mission is to be the Provider, Partner, and Employer of Choice. This position requires dialysis experience and active DC and MD RN licenses. Training may occur at a different facility, and floating to various facilities within Maryland and as far south as DC is required both during and after training. A flexible schedule is essential, including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (DC and MD RN license required)
  • Dialysis experience is required
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) or a three-year diploma from an accredited diploma program may be substituted for nursing degree
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to float to various facilities during and after training within MD and as far south as DC
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment color blind test

Nice To Haves

  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience
  • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN)

Responsibilities

  • Be a part of a team that supports and relies on each other in a positive environment
  • Deliver care to patients who are often dealing with multiple co-morbidities which require unique treatment plans and the ability to leverage a broad range of nursing skills and knowledge
  • Oversee a group of patients with the support of PCTs to conduct patient observations, measuring stats and machine set up
  • Work with your head, heart and hands each day in a fast paced environment
  • Specialize in multiple renal therapies
  • Deliver nephrology care through Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Apheresis
  • Work daily in a hospital setting
  • Deliver dialysis to patients at a contracted healthcare system, and become an integral part of both the hospital and DaVita team
  • Provide lifesaving care during regularly scheduled and on-call shifts
  • Commit to improving patient health through clinical goal setting and quality improvement initiatives
