Float Registered Nurse - Cardiac Progressive Care Unit
About The Position
The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit is a 21-bed step-down unit specializing in the care of cardiology and thoracic patients following procedural or surgical interventions, as well as acute episodes related to their condition. The unit provides a higher level of monitoring and care, including management of multiple titratable drips and inotropes, chest tubes, pain pumps, BiPAP, and various other devices and medications. Our team supports patients as they begin their rehabilitation journey while helping them learn to manage their chronic conditions through comprehensive education and individualized care. As a Float Registered Nurse, you will provide leadership in delivering safe, high-quality, compassionate patient care across a variety of clinical settings. Using the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients and their families. You will collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, communicate effectively, and use clinical judgment to address patient needs and support positive outcomes.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).

Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination and delivery of compassionate patient care using the nursing process.
- Delegate, supervise, and document nursing care and patient/family education.
- Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
- Identify and implement solutions for variances from patient goals.
