About The Position

Assesses, implements, and evaluates care needed by assigned patients under the direction of the licensed physician. The RN is knowledgeable about principles, theories, current methods and techniques of nursing practice. Using the nursing process, the RN collaborates with the patient, patient's family member(s)/significant others, professional peers and other members of the health care team to individualize patient care. Directs nursing support staff in the provision of patient care according to the standards of nursing practice, administrative and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • 2 Years of nursing experience with 1 year in ICU.
  • PA Registered Nurse License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • ICU RNs will float to all ICUs, step-down units, IMCU, and ED for ICU holds/borders.
  • They may also float to Women's and Family if needed.
  • At this facility, they will only be assigned to the ICU.
  • RNs are normally assigned 24 hours in advance to any unit/hospital; however, they can be pulled mid-shift to float to any unit or hospital.
